Semmelknödel
Zu Weihnachten kann man auch mal ein richtig deftiges Essen auftafeln. Genau das haben wir am 4.Advent getan. Ich habe zum ersten Mal Semmelknödel ganz traditionell selbst gemacht. Und mein Fazit: einfach, billig und echt lecker! Mehr kann ich dazu nicht sagen. Das Rezept kann ich auf jeden Fall empfehlen, auch den weniger begabten Köchen. Diese Knödel gelingen auf jeden Fall, wenn man sich an die Kochanleitung hält!
Zutaten für Semmelknödel für 6 Personen:
- 6 trockene Brötchen (am besten 2 Tage alt)
- 4 EL Petersilie
- 20g Butter
- 1 kleine Zwiebel
- 250ml Milch
- 3 Eier
- Salz, Pfeffer
1. Die Brötchen in Würfel schneiden.
2. Gehackte Petersilie mit der gehackten Zwiebel in der Butter glasig werden lassen. Aber das Ganze nicht solange in der Pfanne lassen, bis es braun wird. Sonst wird der Geschmack zu herb. Noch ein kleiner Tipp zur Petersilie: wenn man ein ganzes Bund oder ein Töpfchen mit frischer Petersilie kauft, dann ist das meistens viel mehr als man eigentlich braucht. Die Petersilie (und auch andere Kräuter) kann man super in ganz kleinen Schachteln (oder in den Plastikeier aus dem Ü-Ei) portioniert einfrieren. ALSO: das Butter-Kräuter-Gemisch über die Brötchenwürfel geben und durchmischen.
3. Die Milch erwärmen bis kurz vorm Kochen. Und dann über die Brötchen geben und gut durchmengen. Jetzt 10 Minuten ziehen lassen.
4. Die Eier mit Salz und Pfeffer verrühren und auch über die Brötchen geben.
5. Nun alles gut vermischen. Und aus der Masse mit nassen Händen (sonst klebt alles) Tischtennisgroße Knödel formen. Die Semmelknödel quellen später noch im Wasser.
6. Zum Schluss alle Knödel in sprudelndem Salz- oder Brühewasser 20 Minuten köcheln lassen. Falls manche Würfel zu hart sein sollten, sodass die Masse nicht so gut zusammen kleben könnte, einfach nochmal ein bisschen ruhen lassen, bevor man sie ins kochende Wasser gibt.
